Victoria Elias, BA (SA), is a certified Business Accountant, experienced accounting & finance professional with global exposure with over 8 years of experience in the world of accounting and financial markets on a mission to help South Africans get out of [bad] debt, make smart money choices and achieve financial wellness through her effective personal finance coaching and accounting consulting services. She is clear about the importance of having access to this great enabling resource called money, that it is because of it that kids can have great education, that one can choose their zip code, choose their diet, what they wear, and pretty much live a comfortable life. She is driven by her desire to want to eliminate financial stress and enable people to be financially well. And has dedicated her career to helping others learn the basic principles of success, which often starts with the smart money principle.
The statistics regarding financial literacy are very troubling: More than half of South Africans are unable to pass a basic financial literacy test. They do not understand interest rates, debt and how to budget. The consequences of lacking this basic knowledge are dire, including the potential of incurring massive debt and going bankrupt. It is because of these reasons that I took it upon myself to be the change that I want to see and provide basic financial literacy to various stakeholders in hopes of broadening socio-economic inclusion as well as addressing the knowledge gap in ways that work. – Victoria Elias
She holds a BCom Accounting degree, Advanced Diploma in Financial Markets, Postgraduate diploma in Financial Markets (Honours Equivalent), has JSE Equity settlements and RE5 certifications, and she’s currently completing her Master of Commerce program specialising in Financial Management. She has strong work experience in Finance having worked as a Corporate Actions Specialist for companies inclusive of Easy Equities (Purple Group Limited), Societe Generale Security Services and Standard Bank Group Security Services.
